3080's on newegg red flags

Hi sooo my friend recommended me the used like new 3080's on newegg as they are all very good prices around $600 but im kinda nervous about choosing one as they may have been used for mining. Any tips on red flags and things to look out for? And what brands would be the best?

A380 AV1 Encoding on OBS

Is there any fix for using the A380 as a dedicated encoding GPU (Main GPU is a 6700 xt) for AV1 encoding. Only option I have in OBS for recording is the AMD options and QuickSync H.264.

Need help finding power supply for rog strix 4070 non ti 16 pin connector?

Hi, im looking to buy a modular power supply 750 watts. for around 140 dollars canadian. I see some the options that say 12 pins...how do pins work? will most power supplies have 16 pins? what are pins? i just posted an imagine. most modular power supply have many 8 pins right? do i plug in (x2) 8 pins and im good to go? also anyone know when or if there will be a rog stix 4070 non ti version?

handbrake not encoding

so i went to try to compress a file in handbrake but for some reason it just flat out fails before it tries to encode it. has anyone have this problem

Anybody use a 6-pin to 8-pin adapter for a GPU?

I'm shopping around for a PSU for my new Intel Arc A380 and none of the FlexATX PSUs in my budget have an 8-pin power cable for PCIe (GPU), a few have a 6-pin power cable though and the A380 only uses 75W of power so in theory a 6-pin should be enough right? I've found some 6 to 8 pin adapters on Amazon which might solve my problem. Any issues I might be missing here?

Stinger transitions lagging after adding StreamElements browser source

So I made a few stinger transitions recently for OBS and they ran fine. But then I tried Stream elements for the first time making two browser sources (one for each scene) and after putting in the second stream element source (which contains an animated screen border and an animated chatbox I made for each). the transitions starts lagging and wont perform properly. Should I even be adding in animated borders and chatboxes in the first place in Steam Elements? or is that more for alerts specifically? also a note on rendering, I've rendered everything in Davinci Resolve with: Format: QuickTime...

HELP! intel Arc A750 but eGPU to old laptop and then use capture card for main PC. will it work?

Sorry for the long title. i didn't know how to phase it. not sure how old my bother's laptop is... but it is at least 6 years old. If i plug an eGPU and my cpu and ram is pretty old...will there be a problem recording AV1 encoder. Also i won't be doing any gaming on laptop. im just using the laptop to video capture my main PC so my main PC does not take a big performance hit in a game that is poorly optimized

Which intel quicksync gets used in OBS when the iGPU is enabled etc

In a scenario where the iGPU and the ARC GPU are in the same system. For example i5 13500 which has intel uhd 770 and say an ARC A750 gpu. Whos quicksync encoder gets used when recording or streaming etc if the iGPU is enabled....

AMD B450 AM4 USB Port issues Help

I am about to throw out this mini itx mobo and ryzen 5 5500 and swap to intel for my SFF rig but before I do.... i am experiencing the usb port drop out issues on various devices. I had the elgato facecam and xr1 pro capture card on the same root hub before which caused freezing to both. Need help with budget second PC built for recording

hello i just joined this discord because i need help getting into recording is this the right place to get tech/obs help? my situation is i have replaced my broken rtx 2060 card with radeon 6600xt and found out i have to 1000kbps max for obs to record a decent video but the problem is....it creates a large file i upload to youtube but youtube heavily cuts down video quality. i heard nvidia require less kbps and get better quality at times and that is why i like to have a video card dual pc to record. but the thing is i don't know which parts to get im on a budget i was thinking rtx 3060 499$ canadian maybe? is it over kill? im not planning to play games on that PC, just recording and maybe a bit of video recording(but i down scale my resolution 2560x1080p) using an 21:9 monitor...

Youtube VOD random skips ahead frames but OBS reports no dropped frames

I've been experimenting with 4K60 youtube streams with the new AV1 support in OBS but I've been noticing when I watch the vod back it will occasionally skip ahead a decent chunk of time. This is particularly strange given that OBS reports no dropped frames on the encoder or network end. I'm curious if anyone else is experiencing something similar or if this is a known issue currently

Davinchi Resolve - open file location doesnt work

in the deliver tab of resovle when I right click -> 'open file location' on a finished encoded video it just doesn't work I had this issue on my old Win10 installation and also on my brand new one, the studio version is used btw. running the program with admin permissions also doesn't help anybody has an idea?...

Wondering how to improve the quality of my OBS

Could I get help with my video output. I’ve experimented with OBS for a long time. I’m at a HVENC encoding (AMD) with 6000 bitrate and no frame drops and whenever I’m looking at my footage live on twitch it looks super “Pixely” and awful. So I’m wondering if someone can hop into a call with me to test footage and see what can be done cause I really care about quality.
