Delete from immich webUI does not remove the actual file on disk
Hi, I am new to Immich. I uploaded my photos and video to Immich. I use the storage template so the photos and video are saved on my external harddrive under folder e.g. (.../library/admin/2018/2018-06/). I deleted a few video from immich web ui and also empty the trash. I cannot see those video anymore in web ui, however, those deleted video are still exist in the file directory. Need to get the upload folder ONLY on a bind mount
I need the actual full sized photos on a bind mount - not sub folders or empty folder. Custom folders dont really do the job completely. I.E.
`/mnt/photos. <--- bind mount into container
|_ uploads. <--- storage template should put the organized files here - no library/user subfolder but at the root & no empty folders

URL Switching to local URL not working
I have setup the network switching while connected to my local network. Initially that worked perfectly, until I turned my CF tunnel on to test if it will switch. It did, but after I turned off the tunnel and connected back to my Wifi it did not switch to the local URL.
Pressing the "User current connection" adds only the URL but not the home WiFi, stating "Could not get Wi-Fi name. Make sure you have granted the necessary permissions and are connected to a Wi-Fi network"
I have tried with closing the app, clearing cache and changing the URL/IP but to no avail....
Truenas data set madness
This will be a simple one for some, but I'm a complete noob thought it would be easy to understand it but so much conflicting info.
The two data sets needed by immich "data and pgData" in truenas, do they need to be under the same parent?
I have and 128GB SSD for apps and 2x24Tb mirrored drives for photos etc. Is that pdData data set (some people label as uploads), is that where my phones media will be stored? If so, then I cant set on SSD but HDD, but thought the "data" would be best on the SSD for speed. What am I doing/thinking wrong...

UPLOAD_LOCATION in .env not being respected
Hello, I've set up immich on windows 11 via docker desktop.
In the .env I set the UPLOAD_LOCATION and DB_DATA_LOCATION.
Postgres successfully went to the DB_DATA_LOCATION folder, but when I did a test upload of an image it did not go into the UPLOAD_LOCATION folder....
Which host should I install Nvidia Container Toolkit on?
I'm running Proxmox which hosts a Debian 13 LXC which runs my Immich Docker container. I'm going to get hardware accelerated transcoding going.
Should I install the Nvidia Container Toolkit on Proxmox, or on the Debian LXC, or is this like the GPU driver where I need to install on both?
Immich is newly installed and working as of an hour ago. Just want to get HW accel going without screwing things up. 🙂...
Moving library path
I'm going to move my library from HDD to SSD, and their label is different.
Currently my path is
/media/4TB/immich/ and the new one will be /media/STORAGE/immich/.
...Can't access locked folder
Hi, I'm new to Immich and hosting it on hexos. I have an cheeky pic on my phone that I didn't want to delete but I didn't want to be visible in the timeline on Immich.
I tried putting it in a folder on immich, but this didn't take it off the timeline. I then did some googleing and discovered the archive feature is being used for managing private images so I archived it. Then I noticed something called "move to locked folder" which sounded more promising than archive.
I tapped this move to locked folder button and the image disappeared, from folder timeline and archives. However when I tap on the locked folder menu item on my phone nothing happens, I can't see a locked folder on the desktop version through hexos anywhere. I tried to just moving another image to the locked folder to test if this was some interaction between archive and locked folder but the non-archived image also does not seem to be in the locked folder or I cannot access the locked folder if it's in there....
Memories
Hi, Everything works fine, but I noticed that the automatic generation of Memories stops after 3–4 days. After that, I have to manually trigger the task again to see new Memories.
Video Transcoding education
I feel I don't understand this feature enough, even after reading the docs.
I'm using default settings for transcoding (
required) I think, just changed it to VP9.
I have 3500 files in encoded-video, which surprises me as it's like all videos were transcoded for some reason. They all come from Google Photos, from diff cameras etc, and never had any issues playing any.

Using the Immich App Version: v1.139.4 on truenas I noticed the update info: "The storage configuration you are using is deprecated and will be removed in a future version.". I copied data to the new mentioned location and updated the truenas app configuration.
Started the the Immich App but with no luck:

Immich stopped working
I hopped into my immich webpage to check out some immiches when i was greeted with a red error notice, didnt think much of it so i restarted the server.
Thats when the immich app did not start back up again, i tried to delete it then reinstall it and now i cant even get the F*cking thing to install anymore.
Is homelabbing always this frustrating????...
Street name in the address
Why there is no street name and number in the address? It shows just city, region and country. Does anything need to be set?

Android app not resolving immich API calls
On browser for both desktop and android Immich is resolved correctly (can log in, can click and enlarge images) but on the Android app DNS fails for some reason.
The DNS is dictated by tailscale and as I said, Immich works on browser. I think this has to do with how the app is resolving domain names not using the VPN DNS and using DHCP DNS instead?

Smart Search isn't working anymore
I've very inexperienced with Unraid/self hosting. My friend that knows more and helped me set it up isnt available to help tackle this issue.
The problem started when I tried to upgrade the AI model. It was really inaccurate before and thought even with a super limited computing power it could be enhanced. Ever since I messed with that it just hasnt been working. (months ago)
