if i remember correctly, perksey (one of the founders of Silk) is actually from OpenTK, so we had a good starting point for fixing some of the pain points of it
What do I need to do if I'd want to develop mobile apps with Silk.NET and native functionality, like accessing the gallery. Mainly targeting Android, maybe iOS. Do I base the project off of Xamarin or MAUI? Just trying to figure out the first steps here
That's good to hear! Reason why I'm asking these questions: For my internship at -redacted- I've been tasked to find/setup a decent basis to develop mobile games on, preferably something C# based. Unity is the clear goto, but it's recent actions have been... concerning. Godot is also one of the contenders, as is Silk.NET, since it has some really great things going for it.
@keyslam "Stride currently supports Windows, Android, iOS, Xbox One and Universal Windows Platforms (UWP). Stride also supports most popular VR headsets and has experimental support for Linux."
outdated very much so, especially when it comes to shaders, barely functions even still, it's another option and many successful games have been released with it
