Hey everyone, hope you're well and I wish you a beautiful 2023!

Today, some of our clients reports that the videos we store in R2 can't be streamed. This is a first for us and we're unsure how to proceed.

The warning leads to https://cfl.re/tos which, unfortunately, don't state what the root cause of this error is.

It's worth noting that our clients own all the rights to their videos.

@kiannh I see. What's the right way to contact support and ask them to get it lifted? And how can I prevent it from happening again in the future? will they lift that on the account level or is it per video?

Interestingly, these errors come from the same R2 space, but that is a whole new issue that we face in addition to the previous one where some files simply don't play.

Entire buckets can only be private or public, there is no per-object ACLs yet. You may be able to hack it using WAF rules or Workers depending on your needs.

You need to remove the record you already have for the subdomain you want to use

For example, if you want files.example.org you need to go to your DNS settings for example.org and remove the CNAME for filesfiles or whatever you have there

rclone is a good tool for that (deleting 1000 files might take a bit of time)
