1/16/23, 10:45 PM
because the VB compiler turns all WinForms forms into singletons

managedbass is actually really good but my goal is to not use restrictive licenses

I
'm looking into supporting just wav
, mp3 and vorbis
N
Nitrous
•
1/16/23, 10:46 PM
since those are the most commonly used
L
Lyris the Kitori
•
1/16/23, 10:46 PM
i cant do that
, i have to support a multitude of file formats that the user shoves in
R
ritchie ❤
OP
•
1/16/23, 10:46 PM
Which means it
's trivial to use a vorbis library and a simple custom

there

N
Nitrous
•
1/16/23, 10:49 PM
you just get better sounding audio but at the cost that its probably more costly to decode that format
A
Aqua
•
1/16/23, 10:49 PM
flac will sound no different to wav
R
ritchie ❤
OP
•
1/16/23, 10:49 PM
A lot of the big engines are just going to decode and re
-encode into an optimized format anyway
R
ritchie ❤
OP
•
1/16/23, 10:49 PM
In some cases they
'll even compress it
A
Aqua
•
1/16/23, 10:49 PM
it just uses less space
at the cost of the decoding requirements which frankly isn
't much

I know one of the big features I want to add into Sparky is built
-in audio system integration for the shader pipeline
