AYes, most likely is. But I thought that everyone would be familiar with the smell of new plastic by now. Not 100% familiar with every component/design of your board, but it seems very unlikely that it could, even under some weird conditions, produce kV of voltage, especially with most of the things running on 3.3, 5 or 24V for motors or 48V for stronger motors.
WDefinitely not the latter, though I have to agree the fans have strange thermoplastic smell, but it should clear up after a while.
VSo after calibration is it possible for x&y to be 0000 or is that asking too much precision from the hardware?

Wthe numbers in the VP UI are +-4096 - so for example 100 is only 1.2% of the total throw

W1) Balance spring is used to balance a heavy grip so it doesn't sag when you leave it at an angle. It needs to be tuned when other spring effects are disabled.
2) Saturation limits the effect when it reaches the preset level. (black line in the example). Rarely used.
3) Filter is the control bandwidth, can be tuned to get a better system response, too high can cause oscillations. Advanced feature, defaults are good.

- "Forced effect" means this effect will be "Forced" or locked in and DirectX games will not have authority to override it. For example if you lock the spring effect, trim will not work from DCS. Advanced usage.
- These are soft limits that will prevent/resist the stick moving further than preset throw % in each axis direction.

WNo, this can vary based on calibration. This is the physical data that the motor reports
Sthe video helped. I only pressed 'autocalibrate' and after moved the joystick. I'll try again making sure the 'autocalibrate button' stays highlighted during the calibration process

Multiple settings would make it easier to restore configurations after a firmware update as well as sharing configs. - Sliders control the "global" per-effect class "Volume" or "Gain" because it's possible to create many Spring effects, many periodic effects, etc using directX API. The Effect boxes in the effects tab imitate the effects that DirectX could create and if does, those will be overriden.
Sok so i properly calibrated the rhino. as a test, i turned all settings to 0 and sent that config. I was expecting the stick to be loose. However, it is only loose in the y direction (it will stay where i put it). In the x direction there is significant resistance, more to the right than to the left. The stick returns to center. Is this a bug?
Sactually it is my seat cover engaging the belt. sorry for the ridiculous observation but it is important to remember there are extraneous factors.
Sfinally i looked at the gain map. For the spring effect, i see the deflection in all directions on the graph as i move the stick. However, there is no deflection of the stick indiccators in the damper and inertia gain maps. In fact i feel no dampening or inertia. even when these effects are enable, and set to 50% in the settings.
SI guess I should enter numbers in the boxes in the effects page?

AAfter the update of the last Firmware i get a long beep and the motors didn't work properly. What does a long beep means?

WLong beep means motor fault has occurred. The exact fault is encoded in the statusbar as shown above.
A@walmis the error was fault_undervoltage. I have already discovered the cause. My lab power supply was misaligned. Was my mistake sorry.

VSo one thing I liked about the winwing grip was the set screw to really lock in the grip to the base once tightened down. Any tips to eliminating the grip from being able to break free and rotate during extreme maneuvering? Teflon tape? Loctite 425?

If Iβm in a plane that has a high spring effect the raw limit in the same spot changes to 2175
This means that the axis wonβt actually let me do 100 percent roll in some planes
I found this out when mucking around in the m2000 and it needed a full control wipeout in order to continue with the fbw system

WThat's normal as the gimbal/belt has some flex under load. Could be compensated in software in the new updates if there is a need.
