SAh ok! Like go to in effects and untick all the boxes? And also, the force effect 2nd box underneath, that's just for vpforce to override any game input, right? Thank you very much for the help and suggestions by the way!

SYep, made sure it was on at first and then off, for the huey and f5 anyway. I'm about to try it with all the effects off
SWow I'm dumb, I didn't even know there was a ffb option in the option menu, I thought it was only through the special tab for individual modules. My old ffb stick, I used an app that would override dcs, figures. Thank you for making me double check my options

Syes the gearboxes at 10:1 allow for much higher forces at the grip than the 5:1 (? not sure what exact pulley ratio is) belt system. 35deg full throw translates to 350 degrees of the motor is used. Any more and the encoder gets stupid and if you switch it on at the endpoint it will think its on the next rotation. so keeping it under 360 works great. these are ultra low backlash servo gearboxes, i tried some cheapo ones first and it jus felt sloppy. plus they have a beefy bearing in them to act as at least one of the gimbal axes. i dont have it fully built yet but just bench testing with the flight stick in one axis felt wonderful
YGearboxes without backlash would give a more precise feel than transferring through a rubber band. It's something the simracer guys have learned. They are more expensive and the sim has to provide enough detail for it to be worthwhile though.

Si wouldnt say belts are rubber bands haha they can be plenty stiff with kevlar reinforcements but the ratio im going for wouldnt be practical with pulleys
YI know. I was definitely exaggerating for effect. There is some belt play as shown by Walmis compensating for it.

PHey guys does anyone have experience with HID hide? I've hit the 8 peripheral limit in IL2 & I want to use the VPforce loopback app & HID hide to make my vkb grip & the Rhino base show as one & IL2 not to see my VKB independently. Any help would be great, cheers
AOk, interesting bug I came across -- in Team Speak -- I can't assign any rhino buttons to hotkeys. It's like they somehow don't register a press up event or something? hard for me to explain, but i basically can't setup any push to talk binds in team speak using joystick buttons attached to the rhino. When I press the button to record a press, the gray box appears, and when i press a button on the rhino, either one of two things will happen: nothing will register, or if something does register, it won't dismiss the dialog, requiring me to press another button (like mouse button or a keyboard button that then turns it into a combo
JHad you tried a workaround of setting the button in question to function as a key on your keyboard?
AMy current workaround has been to map it to a button on my virpil throttle for now

Syeh i tried it but turning it on/off was intrusive - instead i got a usb hub with a single on off switch and plugged my cougar flight panels and homemade arduino boxes into it. now before flying IL2, i can quickly and easily switch off a bunch of controllers
Pyeah only trouble is I have 9 thigs I want plugged in for IL2, so just want to couple the vkb grip with the Rhino then hide the grip from IL2 as a standalone grip

Pno I never really looked into them, can I use them to combine multiple peripherals into one?

AWhat does this entail? Although of course, ideally, it's probably properly fixed with something in the Rhino firmware? It's weird cause no other game or app has any problem with the Rhino

Syep i do this too, make a vjoy device with all the axes and buttons, and then in gremlin you can map multiple physical devices to it. gremlin also has the HID hide thing built in so you can set it up in there.
