DYou need to delete ~/.cache/thumbnail first, after that nautilus should generate thumbnail

CSpeaking of Nautilus.. is there a way to fully replace it with Nemo? I've had some quite annoying issues with the file picker lately

Bafaik you need nautilus installed as its integrated into desktop of gnome
Bbut if you layer nemo and put it on side panel you can use it
