Fallout 3 crashes at random times. Sometimes in the starting menu, sometimes after a few seconds of playing or even minutes
I’ve tried using Proton GE-Proton7-49 and Proton 7.0

If you want to use something similar to Proton but meant to be used outside Steam then Wine-GE would be a good choice
