SOk, so it's pretty straight forward then
RYea just search the web for MMJOY2 and dig into it.
SWith the Rhino DIY setup, I envision I could put all of it in the floorboard of my cockpit and use a proper length stick extension. Could even have a tandem cockpit where both sticks are driven by the same kit.
SI just built a button box that uses a similar project to MMJoy but uses a cheap STM32 Mcu.

SI used a Debolistis shift register boards with the FreeJoy and STM32, works perfect

RI was going to say he also has a Board that breaks out the Pro Micro to the shift register pin header
RJust wire up a mini-din 5 pin female and plug it into the TM stick
SOk, I didn't realize it was that simple
SThat opens up every single Virpil stick to me
RYeup. Not positive on how it talks analogue through the Shift register, The Rhino board is already set up to read it out of the box
RIf you’re in the US, I have an extra Debolistis ProMicro to SPI break out board i can send you as i had to order 3 from OSH park.
SI still have 2 more 64 input boards I haven't soldered up yet

RWith the inland or amazon rando copies of the ProMicro it’s way cheaper for just buttons

SI like the FreeJoy project because it's still active and updated, MMjoy is now abandoned
RYea I’ll probably switch when I run out of pro micros. Or need faster sharper input
SMy blue pills are generic STM32's but still work
RSTM32, are super handy. I use them for real-time data in my race car.
RMuch more versatile than ATmega32s
SI used to program Atmel Megas in C, before Arduino's were a thing
SNow 8bit MCu's are ancient and everyone just uses 32 bit even for simple things
RThey’re cheap enough and pumped out at scale
SOpen source has changed everything, the collective brain power of thousands allows for so much more than anything I could have done on my own
RYea it’s great, half the stuff I have and make only would ever happen due to open source
RIt’s a good time to be a maker. If raw material costs would just calm the heck down….
SMy 3D printers have made my machine shop collect dust. But If I go make rudder pedals, I'll clean up my shop and do it out of metal
SBut material cost is so cheap with 3D printing, it really makes it hard to step away from 3D printing
RYea but sometimes wood or metal is the only thing to do the job.

SCan someone please tell me what FFB effects we have with the Rhino in Modernjets
Phey m8, I use the VKB MCGU & 200mm curved extension on the Rhino base & it feels awesome for jets & heli's I use the much lighter VKB KG12v2 grip for warbirds & GA/Bush planes. It is noticeable when I switch out the heavier mcgu for the Kg12 having less leverage or weight gives the stick a slightly different feel which to me suits warbird/GA better. All 'n all the Rhino is awesome & things like helicopters feel so much better, having force trim working is game changing! Also the ability to customize the base per aircraft via config files is just as cool.

S@pinksht that's what I'm thinking
PDon't get me wrong, the standard sized motors on the Rhino are powerful, 9Nm peak torque is no small amount, just thinking about the extra linkages/length connecting it up to two separate sticks, although something I'm keen so find out is; using the Telem app in a twin seat would two separate Rhinos act like they were linked?
