--persist isn't a thing in Wrangler 3better-sqlite3 compiling, rather than workerd downloading. We're exploring ways of removing this dependency (workerd already ships with SQLite itself, but Miniflare currently needs access to SQLite bindings in Node).wrangler dev --remote can do that, it runs the dev worker remotely which is slower but it can then access remote resources--upstream-protocol http but that didn't work.
