If you upgrade to Workers Paid it will allow your script size to be up to 10 MiB, otherwise you will have to work out how to include that file as an asset and not imported as part of your functions script

I just know that importing a 5MB json file into your script will cause this issue and the fix is to not do that or to upgrade to Workers Paid

I see an open bug (https://github.com/cloudflare/workers-sdk/issues/2768) but there is no advice on anything that could be done to work around, and it's a pretty generic message - so any advice would be much appreciated

Are there any plans to speed up builds for pages, more specifically next-on-pages (if that makes a difference)? For comparison, my builds on Vercel take roughly 40 seconds while cloudflare builds are around 2-3 minutes. It doesn't always matter, but if a build were to fail for any given reason I would prefer to know sooner. Just as an example, I had a build fail yesterday because a font couldn't be downloaded from google fonts for use in nextjs..? I attempted to retry the build and it took 6 minutes before I cancelled it, taking a look at the logs looks like nodejs was being downloaded but failed and didn't cause an error. Just a few things that would improve the ux of pages

Improvements to next-on-pages' build speed will be in the next release (2-4x faster), but that won't impact on the kind of time you're talking about. The biggest slow downs would generally be in the build images tools like nodejs, or installing your dependencies. After that, Next.js building could also be somewhat slow too.

Some caching mechanisms would be nice in Pages - there is a directory in Next.js that could be cached between builds (.next/cache.next/cache), but the rest of it (tools/deps) is more a build image thing IMO

Yeah that is understandable, I mostly wanted to mention it to determine whether or not it was something to do with my setup. 2 minutes isn't too bad for me regardless. Hopefully there will be some caching for builds soon prayge

Go to https://dash.cloudflare.com/?to=/:account/pages/view/:pages-project/settings/functions and under the Compatibility flags section click configure and add nodejs_compatnodejs_compat. You'll probabaly need to redeploy your project
