I lost 40 pounds and now nothing in my closet fits
So I am looking to rebuild my wardrobe basically from scratch. I have T shirts, a pair of work pants, but outside of that, everything else from my suits and dress clothes, to most of my athletic shorts don't fit anymore.
My biggest immediate concern is getting remeasured for a suit, and some dress shirts as I have 3 weddings and hopefully some job interviews in my future. So I am looking for advice on brands, as well as general advice.

I realize I should give an idea of what I am looking for. I looking to transition into a business casual position in an I.T field in the next few months, so I would be looking for several pairs of slacks, as well as button down shirts.
Do you have a budget? Are you happy to shop online? Are you close to a major city?
I plan on buying this over the course of a few months, so I have a flexible budget. Though I do have some cash set aside for buying a suit and a few other imminent essentials of about $1500. I am always wary of buying clothes online, though if it has a flexible return policy, then I feel better about it, because often clothes don't fit. I live in Florida in a major city.
First of all concgrats
Thank you!
I can't mention any brands but I think some nice chinos in beige and blue would also be nice. Maybe a navy blazer as well
I literally just did this.
My advice is 1) try things on 2) stick to basics 3) don't splurge (yet)
I've been pretty level at 240 for about 3 months now, it seems my weight loss stagnated as I got a girlfriend.
There is a list of recommended brands at the bottom of this: https://malefashionadvice.substack.com/p/building-a-basic-wardrobe-v70

Also, congrats on losing 40 lbs.
Also, particularly for more expensive things like dress clothes, consider shopping second-hand.
That's actually the "checklist" that lead me here.
Excellent
I agree that buying clothes online is risky, especially since you are still figuring out your new size
But since you are in a big city, you should have some options.
You could probably go to Uniqlo, buy everything there, and not do too badly. 😀
Another suggestion: when you try things on, keep a record of what you tried on, and what size fit. Then you have the option of buying online later
Would recommend land's end for budget-friendly business causal, they have a relatively good returns/exchange policy as well
So I hit both Nordstrom and Brooks brothers, got my sizing figured out. Now I just need to narrow it down to a few outfits
