I'm not 1000% sure, that's why I've not documented it.

I typically install by running nix-env --install appnix-env --install app
I typically uninstall by running nix-env --uninstall appnix-env --uninstall app
I typically update by running nix-env --upgrade (optional: app)nix-env --upgrade (optional: app)
and delete old generations by running nix-collect-garbage -dnix-collect-garbage -d

All those examples seem very clear to me, but unfortunately doing something like nix-env --install bravenix-env --install brave just yields error: selector 'brave' matches no derivationserror: selector 'brave' matches no derivations Am I putting in the wrong package name? Based on https://search.nixos.org/packages?channel=23.05&show=brave&from=0&size=50&sort=relevance&type=packages&query=brave I'm not sure what else to specify.

Thanks folks. Looks like it is all working now, but before I could install anything I had to do nix-channel --add https://nixos.org/channels/nixos-unstable unstablenix-channel --add https://nixos.org/channels/nixos-unstable unstable and then nix-channel --updatenix-channel --update

Ok. As I mentioed above, nix profile install nixpkgs#bravenix profile install nixpkgs#brave did initially work for me. So that's the preferred method of installing?
