Just trying the UH-60L mod in DCS. There seems to be no native force trim, so I am using the Hardware Force Trim - what is the unit of measure of "Trim slew rate" and what is a good starting number prior to tuning?

Thanks Walmis, I did, and that screen reflects that. Unless I have done something wrong? Stick is docile now, but effects seem more muted. Perhaps as I have increased damping a lot in an attempt to balance it with the new Z extension. Positioning is perfect now ( I had to also add a 100 mm extension for height, which I could dispense with by building a platform for the base of you think it’s problematic) There is a lot of weight rearward now. Perhaps other Z extension users could share settings of how they counteracted the weight? I followed your advice for using balance spring and static force, but I do have a nagging feeling that things are not the best they can be……….This is a bit like tweaking for performance in VR!!! So many variables and combinations….

Don't use damping to counter the offset weight. Use the static force forward instead or alternatively (not in addition to) the adaptive recentering. I like the static force output more. I posted my settings to you via private message.

Another thing is that remember to re-calibrate the stick after installing the extension and only after that tweaking the settings.

I haven't played around with the Rhino in some time, just updated everything and am using the .exe version of the telem software.
I noticed that now, modern aircraft - I've tested F5, Mig 21, Mig29 all have a centering spring type force

I run the Z Extension plus an additional 50mm extension tube along with the Alpha Prime grip. Only using adaptive centering and have zero issues with return to center.

What would dampen the periodic effects? Since I re mounted the stick today I have got it set up nicely in terms of feel and position, however, my effects are very muted.....( have not altered my .ini file) I have turned them up to 100% but still very muted.....here are the settings I am using now:

This doesn't answer your question but I tried that mod a couple days ago. The flight model is terrible and I'm giving it a miss until they improve it significantly (if they do that).

That effect (elevator droop) shouldn’t be playing at all unless the aircraft is tagged as a prop aircraft in the config. Can you confirm that effect is active in the TelemFFB effects monitor page?

but interestingly enough, if I'm using differential braking (soviet style) - even though it might slow me down as much, if I have a pedal pressed the effect goes away entirely

Last question - It is normal to have my stick have a very light autocentering when having no loading on my elevator, right? When I stall out in a jet or I am on the ground, the stick will gently return back to the center position.

Quickest way to be certain would be to test without TelemFFB, however, TelemFFB does not touch spring forces or centering in any way (except for trim on the harrier).

I suspect the telemetry is going crazy during certain conditions like crashing and system startup. Need to add additional safeguards to ensure the effects can only start under the right conditions.

I am asking here as there are lots of people and especially Walmis of course who understand FFB and how it works and so might know. There is an issue with the F14, when trying to use the ACLS, whereby when you get to the bit where you hand off control at around 2 miles, the jet will drive down into the sea. Apparently is a Heatblur issue, but it only does it when using an FFB joystick.....any way it could be investigated to understand the cause?
