based on my look of the script it always mounts the configs to home directory of user in main namespace(your desktops user home directory)

It’s try to find whatever /run/host/$home_dir where home dir is the sixth field of /etc/passwd inside the container

I’m not sure what the home isolation in distrobox does

Basically it creates home directory for a user where as using systems user home directory it does exactly that to /home/{username}
