proxy question

In the documentation there is the following: "NOTE: If you're using Cloudflare, it is important that the _acme-challenge record has Cloudflare proxying disabled (no orange cloud)." The way this is worded, am I to understand that the other CNAME (*) should be proxied, or should both have proxy turned off?

up to you if you want to use the cloudflare proxy for the wildcard domains, the only thing that needs to have the proxy disabled is the acme challenge
