Ayea rust is great
i had a long rant to a friend yesterday about my problems with it but i can kinda look past them because of how nice the language is

clone is a perfectly valid way of doing things tooPyeah that’s what I mean, you want to pass around a COM instance without adding a ref? Just move it. Can’t do that? You should probably add a ref by cloning it.

Ai just wasn't sure if the interface types still acted like COM objects or more like rust ones, but they are COM which is good
Amakes it easier than doing this nonsense
Pgenerally the language projections try to use the mechanism that is most in line with what the rest of the ecosystem around that language does
Pfor example CsWin32 uses the built in COM interop unless you ask it very nicely not to do that

Fi wanna use rust but i dont know how to structure programs that work well with it
Pif it's multi-threaded, actor pattern. otherwise, idk just writing code usually works i've found i've never really had to think about it for non-multi-threaded, non-async.
Pbut then again i've pretty much exclusively used async with Rust bar a few small ASN.1 manipulation programs
