I’m deleted the game and reinstalled it, but my data is gone even though I never deleted the prefix. The force download option is also not working.

Would it fix the issue if I deleted the game, the prefix, and the log and then reinstalled and force downloaded?
- Did you perhaps switch from Proton to Wine (or vice versa)? The prefix structure is different between those
- If you're worried about save files, you don't want to outright delete your prefix. If you really want to start fresh, move it somewhere else

I tried installing mods, but the mods couldn’t detect the exe file so I tried to manually select it but it just wasn’t there
I uninstalled it and reinstalled it to see if that would fix it, and that’s where I am now

Well, you've not answered my first point and directly disregarded the 2nd... Not that great of a start here
If Save Sync doesn't pull in your save file, it's either because (1) you simply don't have a save file in the cloud or (2) the save path is incorrect (which is also common if you've switched from Wine to Proton / Proton to Wine); you can tell Heroic to re-compute the path itself in the game settings, or (if you know what you're doing), you can set the path yourself

For the first quest, I have no idea. For the second question, I don’t see how it would help
Also I pulled in a save file from the cloud before, but it’s gone for some reason
I haven’t uploaded or anything
Right, first of all please verify that the save path is correct
We can also do this for you if you upload your game log

Well, considering you don't know whether you're using/have used Wine or Proton, it'd probably be best if you let us do that for you

theres a last play log and a regular one, idk which one is needed so i put both in there

it was launching normally yesterday, and I didn't mess with any files
im not sure what happened but the game is working now after i uninstalled and reinstalled, my data is also back
ive uninstalled and reinstalled before and it didnt work
is it possible to make a copy of the games save just in case something like this happens again?
Sure, your save data is in this folder:

theres a bunch of files in there, should i copy the whole folder or just a specific file?
The whole folder is what's uploaded to Epic's cloud, so I'd guess that all of it is also required

im trying to install some mods but for some reason the installed cant find the exe. I tried finding it manually but the installer uses it own file browser and not the native one, and for some reason the entire heroic games folder isnt appearing
is that something you guys can help with or would I have to go to a forum for the games modding community?
Also, is it possible to change the location of the games folder without breaking it?

I don't know how you are installing the mod, but you should use the option
Run EXE in prefix in the game's settings in heroic
