Favorite accessory and why - Topic of the day 10/30/23
What's your favorite accessory (or accessories)? Show off some fits where you're wearing it! How important are accessories to an outfit? Do they make or break an outfit for you?

Does jewlery count? Its not really a per out fit accessory as I basically am always wearing my jewlery, but jewlery.
definitely
been wearing this watch daily for like 2.5 months now. i have said it before and will say it again: i like my seiko
I love sunglasses and I think they bring out a lot in a streetwear outfit
I think it's difficult to not rely on a few accessories daily (watch, belt, ring, etc) but above all I would be nothing without my tote bags
Yes tote bags are key
Big fan of hats
Crazy how I can’t own enough
I wear a silver earcuff basically everyday
Hate and rings are top tier. I want to get more into bracelets and bandanas. Hot take but I don’t think belts are an accessory because sometimes they are essential to the outfit rather than an add on
Watch, bracelets, rings, necklace. The bracelets and necklace never come off. Watches I rotate depending on outfit/mood/activity. Wedding ring gets swapped for silicone band for gym and active stuff. Ring on middle finger goes on whenever the metal wedding band is on.
Bracelet/necklace has a lot of sentimental value to me - bracelet engraved with my son's birthday and necklace with 2 pendants that show the moon phases (crescent and full) on my kids' birthdays
I'm still learning to accessorize, definitely a wardrobe gap for me. Love this ring though, and my double mt fuji bandana

This is my favorite ring. It’s a labradorite ring I got in Mexico
I really want some jade from the motherland but I am not knowledgeable enough to avoid fakes haha
I want a jade necklace so bad but yeah I am afraid of fakes
Charli let's go to China
Let's mine our own 玉
I’m going next year with family late march haha
I’ll bring my pickaxe. I got through tsa without an ID I could get through it again with a pickaxe
I was looking at a jadeite ring but have been weary for the same reason
daily essentials for me are my regular glasses (i need them to see) or prescription sunglasses + a watch. i switch out my frames and watches depending on the day but my fav sunglasses are these https://wearebraindead.com/products/tani-eye-protection-tri-tortoise-black

Love my glasses. I think a lot of people who wear glasses everyday would agree that you form an emotional connection to them that you don’t get with accessories not on your face.
Yeah...it didn't even occur to me to think of my glasses as an accessory. More like a fixture. My last several frames are from Anne et Valentin, which I love.
Although, I was noticing that my current frames don't suit my face as well since losing some weight, so it might be time for a new pair.
Picking a favorite overall accessory is impossible. I need to wear it more often, but this Byborre scarf is one of my favorite accessories.
Are we counting bags?
Bags definitely count
My friend got me this fake Loewe bag two Christmases ago and it's lasted me until now. Been a real staple of my fits and just everyday life since then. I love him 🥺
Im trying to keep a bandana or tenugui on me at all times now, working with young kids and living with someone with constant allergies i’m starting to understand why old dudes always had a hanky.
+fun pop of color
I'd recommend Yokdee on Etsy, she's based out of Singapore and only sells type A jadeite
Also iirc you're in San Francisco? Check out Cressalia Jewelers, they have no online presence but they have a big collection of Antique Jade. I've never been there but it comes highly recommended
Also Muretta on Fillmore has a good jade selection, I bought a nephrite bead necklace there a while back but it needs some repair that I've been putting off
Fyi a legit seller will either send things for certification or refund you if it turns out fake
Oooooh thanks!!
Oh yeah I guess I should answer the original question. Sorry saw the word jade and had a spectrum moment.
Also jewelry for me lol. Right now my favorites are my pearl necklaces and a handmade gold curb chain bracelet. The pearls can kind of take over an outfit but the bracelet works surprisingly well with most things.
Oh also the reason they're my favorite: I'm just a magpie and I like shiny
it's always lil sharky
raeburn sling bag shaped like a shark in english suiting wool, I missed it on sale and bought it basically deadstock years later even cheaper on grailed and I was so fuckin happy
