It’s happened before, don’t believe it’s a recent thing. But it did happen to me today which is why I tried to debug a bit further. It’s unclear if spawning another type of plane will fix, but going back to main menu and re-spawning an F14 definitely did not fix

The TelemFFB automatic telemetry setup insertion code for IL2 knows how to deal with an existing configuration and will add itself as addr1addr1 if a configuration already exists, but it does not account for multiple entries.

It looks like they released actual documentation on the telemetry stream and setup at the beginning of October... that would have been useful information when writing the decoder module for TelemFFB!

What you have written above should work per the configuration part of the document. As long as TelemFFB is set up as either addraddr or addr1addr1 (which it is in your example), it should pass the validation in TelemFFB

When you say 'it just comes up with errors'. Are you talking about TelemFFB or IL-2? I tested the format you show above and TelemFFB did not throw any errors.

Correct that's what I tried and that worked. Now to add IL2 SRS back in. How do I do that with all 3 VPForce Rhino + Buttkicker + SRS ?

I tried with the following :

hmm.. those apps probably work like TelemFFB and only understand addr and addr1. TelemFFB doesn't barf if addr2 exists, only if itself is not either addr or addr1.

Can you configure the address/port in either SRS or SSW?

This is why I use 127.255.255.255 as the destination address in the config I write to IL-2. Then any receiver can open a socket on any address in 127.0.0.0/8 on the right port and recieve the stream

if everyone is using their own ip/port pairings, then the sim has to replicate the stream that many times. If everyone used the broadcast address, it only has to send it out once

Try this though.

Manually set telemFFB to use the addr2 slot in the IL-2 config, then set l2_cfg_validationl2_cfg_validation to disable in your TelemFFB user config.

If SRS/SSW still error out, I'm afraid you'll have to go to them for support to get it working

Whats interesting is that I actually have an additional app pysim thats using shaker for bhaptics vest and its just purely looking at some same port and shaking i didnt have to do anything more

It may be possible to use the same ip/port across different apps. I just know that for TelemFFB, I can not bind the same ip/port between multiple instances (hence why I am using the broadcast address).

IL-2 doesnt understand FFB pedals and TelemFFB doesn't add any dynamic forces yet (so its just all the haptic effects). But I plan on extending it to at least implement dynamic spring force based on speed. There is not enough telemetry available from IL-2 to do anything more advanced.

~~Looking into this a bit more…it may be possible to use SO_REUSEADDR and/or SO_REUSEPORT since this is all UDP sockets. Will look into it further.~~Edit: Nope.. windoze doesnt support REUSEPORT, and REUSEADDR (which is already in the code) doesn't seem to have the desired effect. If I set the host address to 127.0.0.1 in TelemFFB, only one copy will work at a time as each additional instance is stuck in TIME_WAIT for the socket to be available

If thats the case then you can send it to TelemFFB (127.255.255.255 port 34385). Then remove TelemFFBs config from the [telemetrydevice][telemetrydevice] part of the IL2 config (but leave it in the motiondevicemotiondevice section as it needs both sets of data).

Then disable the config validation in the TelemFFB config.

Might want to create something like this port forwarding for your telemffb program for the same purpose as they have, you just continue port forwarding for all the ffb apps you want and none will be stuck and run out of ip/ports due to IL2 addr limitation.

what's your setup like? Heavy grip? Long extension? Offset extension? Depending on these things, you may need to adjust the "balance springs" to compensate. You can also use "adaptive recentering" to help keep the stick centered.

swap between the light f-14 grip and a heavy f-18 thrustmaster grip. They’re on a bent Virpil 200m extension.

After tightining some belt screws, it seems to better. No problems recentering with the DCS hornet. Recentering with the DCS Tomcat is sluggish.

I don't think it's a motor issue. I just don't know if my firmware is set incorrectly or if it's DCS

Hey guys - I'm having an issue with my 1 week old Rhino. More specifically, I'm having an issue with my 1+ year old VKB MCG Ultimate grip connected to it via the included connector.

I was just tweaking my config and testing it ingame (DCS) with the F-14 doing some high-alpha manoeuvres with the stick shaking pretty harshly when I noticed the trim had stopped working. I checked my bindings, but they were fine. The grip, however, was not. Green light was out and and no inputs registered, neither in-game or in Windows or in the VKB config or button tester apps.

I have tried restarting my PC and re-starting my USB hub to no avail. I have tried moving the grip over to my old Gunfighter Mk3 and connecting that to the black box and voila... green light in the grip, all buttons registering. All good.

Moved it back to the Rhino... dead.

This would suggest to me that the VKB adapter has died? The black box is still flashing red, fwiw.

Blackbox will always flash red, that's normal. With the adapter we are bypassing the controller in the blackbox so it flashing red doesn't mean the grip is broken

Howerver, if it was shaking hard and then stopped, did you try power cycling the Rhino? Even using e-stop should help. Happened to me once when I was fiddling with the effects with P-47, there was a lot of shaking and it went limp. Reverted the effects, cycled the rhino and all was good

For clarity - the Rhino is fine. That's not the thing that stopped working from the shaking. It's only the grip that stopped working. The Rhino just started the fans after a bit and that was it. It powered through the shaking without any issues. The grip is the one that stopped working from that treatment (I assume).
