So the first issue is we have something here pulling in glibc32 which appears to have been replaced by glibc.i686. So that package will need to be tracked down. Alternatively, removing it immediately installs the correct package for me. Pipewire stuff is recurring and conflicts on occasion
kinda offtopic but anybody have an 8bitdo ultimate (switch version) with bazzite connected and can tell me if the back buttons can be bound and if gyro works?
the black screen only happens occasionally on a fresh installation, solutions are to either to temporarily attach an external display, or the following:
(Copy-paste) When you have a blank or frozen on "Verifying Installation" screen:
CTRL + ALT + F2 to open a terminal. Login w/ your user
In terminal:
steamos-session-select plasma
steamos-session-select plasma
to get back into Desktop Mode
click on the return to game modereturn to game mode icon on your desktop.
for some reason, the black screen issue resolves once you open game mode at least once from desktop mode.
Damn I really wish there would be a way to say " hey this is the 8bitdo controller. here are the extra buttons. have fun" instead of what we have now which is basically "hey this is a generic xinput device in switch mode. its a switch controller. screw your extra back buttons"
Not a Steam issue or even an Xpad issue (the driver responsible for handling controllers). You can get controllers fully working via Xpad but you need to put in the time to implement support for it. Not the friendliest thing in the world but certainly not an issue with the solution we have
err, not sure if it will fix the problem on fresh install, but you can try. why not try hitting the return to game modereturn to game mode icon on fresh boot?
back buttons work but has to be configured in windows using the 8bitdo application or through android/ios using 8bitdo ultimate software (the controller does not have to be paired with the controller) gyro works only in switch mode (with dongle beta firmware) or bluetooth mode (which is locked to switch mode)
