ELooks like it's complaining that the packages are all the same version... Which really shouldn't be an error. We could pipe the return as true and it likely wouldn't be problematic. I figured it would help when things mismatch (as they often do)

Ahrm, now what's going on. steam-patch is throwing tcp connect errors in the syslog and steam isn't starting :/

Ayeah, i eventually got to that point and decided to just try going through the setup flow again. the biggest driver there was just trying to deal with reading the console on my high dpi device. ow.
Agdi, going through it again, steam goes and tries setting itself up and then dies while installing. sigh. was there a command to bring yourself back to desktop mode from the console?
