the native packages should already be there and you can safely remove the bazzite-arch container (assuming you have not installed anything yourself inside it)

or just simply search for Steam and if you see multiple copies and one that doesnt say (on bazzite-arch) then it's there

unless you installed it as a flatpak (can double check in Discover (KDE) or GNOME Software (GNOME) and see if you can install it in either of the Flathub remotes)

Seemingly I swapped from using a distro box version to a non-distro box version without noticing. I confirmed by looking through my trash, and finding two different desktop shortcuts I had deleted, the older one linked to nonexistent distrobox image, and the newer one linked to my existing install.

not for steamos you can’t, but you can for Bazzite/nobara. It’s just a ton of work because of the amount of tweaking Valve makes to the default LTS kernels

I’m not very familiar with the process but it seems very labor intensive. There were somewhere around 60 wifi patches that had to be rebased so they would also apply to an up-to-date 6.6 kernel

as long as the version still exists in rpmfusion, i believe you can pass the version number as part of the image tag
other than that you will have to rollback to a previous build that used the older drivers

but if you already installed bazzite and home is in a subvolume, i do not know if anaconda lets you keep subvolumes from a previous btrfs setup so if you really want to be sure not losing anything i would recommend backing up your /home/ to a different partition or disk first
