You can use wrangler as well to direct upload a directory:

Might be a bit easier

But yea git-based projects are generally a good idea. You can direct upload via Wrangler to a git project, but you can't ever convert a direct upload to a git based project

yeah I also switched to netlify because they don't have the hard limit of 20000 files, in fact there is unlimited files with the condition that maximum per folder should be 50,000

Yeah we've discovered another issue though. Netlify is actually pretty slow at uploading your files to their servers. My website even generated ahead of time on GitHub actions, takes 20 minutes to upload just the English site

Unless it's causing issues should be safe to ignore, Pages issues its own SSL/TLS for each hostname, but just not as a universal or adv. cert, so it just doesn't see it. Normally without Pages if you created a proxied DNS record for something deeper then the first level you'd need Adv. Cert Manager (ACM)

using middleware.js to check referer in headers.
before returning the HTML page, I add the referer as a meta tag to the page.

When I look at the logs I can see it finds the referer.
When I check the html source returned, I can see the meta tag that I add. but the referer is null.
in the logs it would show linkedin but not in the meta tag once rendered on client side.

It will be injected into the environment at runtime, varies per framework I suspect but for Next.js for example it’s in process.env.YOUR_VAR_NAME
