Bbecuase as far as i understand silverblue installs flatpaks during installer
EKinoite doesn't ship with any flatpaks out of the box. When you rebase from Silverblue to Kinoite, they do not get installed because there aren't any and you get left with the SB flatpaks, but likewise, when you rebase from Kinoite to Silverblue no flatpaks are installed because they are only installed during installation itself
EWhich I personally think is a bad default given flatpaks are being used in GNOME to replace core applications
Bi think in general they have same problem as we do so do aka cant ship flatpaks out of the box in image
EWe can ship them in the image now. It's just a size issue

AIt’s not just about size though, it basically stops updates too as they’re part of the image
AI played with doing that for myself and this was the deal breaker for me at least …

ENow this is interesting. I wonder when exactly the fedora remote gets added or if it is somewhere else on the image:

ESo I understand why now. The remote, Silverblues preinstalled Flatpaks, etc - all get written to a different directory. Because we change where this all gets installed, those those things aren't in the path set by the installation. Might still be a case for a minimal service that runs Fedoras third party opt out and removes the Fedora remote along with the Flatpaks we had been removing from Silverblue in Bazzite. Assuming this route is optimal when it's said and done
