BLargely in my experience the shipping company prepays any import/vat fees to expedite the handling shipping, the bill for this has come for me a few different ways, it can be added in with the shipping labels, come few days later in the mail, or lately an electronic bill just sent straight to my bank.

CJust to verify, the Vkb adapter is for mkIII grips.

RHmmm... How do you assign buttons as hats when using shift register boards (generic grip or VPForce shift register board profiles)?
LAfter calibrating my stick and sending the settings to the device, the stick doesn't center. It's reading -24 in x and 166 in y. This is with Spring force enabled at 100% in both screens. How do I get these to zero out? It's resulting in a slight nose up input in DCS that I'm having to fight constantly.
LI imagine it has something to do with the assymetrical physical stops I've installed on the base to mimic the range of the F/A-18 stick
LBut what I don't understand is why the FFB isn't driving the stick to the zero position anyway
LTurning adaptive recentering will hold it in the center position if I move it there and let go, otherwise it oscillates around center at about 4Hz
LSetting the Spring Force LPF to 25Hz (Max) helps reduce the amplitude of the oscillation, but doesn't eliminate it
LOk, Adaptive Recentering + about 30% Damping and Inertia has sorted it. I don't love the feeling of the adaptive recentering though
LDefinitely going to have to do more tweaking. Hooking up to the tanker was not easy :S
LAnyone have settings they can share that makes for good "finger flying"?
WWhat grip/extension are you using? Sounds like it could be a balancing issue.
TGuys, does DCS have its own spring strength? It seems like I dial in my setting in the configurator and save it. But when I start flying a module in DCS, it feels -5% to -10% lighter with regards to spring strength.
LThanks walmis! I’m using a TM Hornet grip with the VPC 200mm Flightstick Extension so that would make sense.
LI believe so Tinman. You could try checking off “Sticky” in the configurator for Spring Force. I’m not sure if that overrides only the spring effect in DCS or all effects generated by TelemFFB though.
Ngood practice to tune the balance force settings first, so that your stick more or less stays where you put it, even with no spring force enabled... then the adaptive centering will have to work a lot less to fully center the stick and you won't feel it as much or at all...

NThat is the nature of FFB. DCS has native FFB support and each module has its own unique implementation.
If you enable sticky spring, you will lose the entire dynamic aspect of FFB (if the aircraft has such, aka non-FBW) including trim movement.
Don’t try to set up the rhino for a specific aircraft outside of the sim. Do it while the sim is running and you are loaded in the aircraft.
As a simplified explanation, if DCS says “set %85 spring strength”, that %85 is not related to the maximum force your joystick can output, it is related to the maximum force you have configured in vpf configurator.
So if you had your slider at %50, and DCS said “set %85”, that actually results in %85 of %50.

NIf you want to go as far as having different configurator profiles for different aircraft, you can accomplish that with TelemFFB which can dynamically load profiles when you load into an aircraft.

SHey all, not sure where to post this. I got a message from the BOT that I need to fill out a form and that I was also emailed this information. I looked in my inbox and I was unable to find anything besides my initial request a year or so ago. I have filled the form, but I still haven't gotten anything from the bot or via Email. I just want to make sure that whoever is running the orders is aware that I am still here and still interested in purchasing one. SI am also on the BSB now, my Aero is officially collecting dust. Just using it as a backup. I just can't go back.
OThe BSB is that much better than the aero? Even without eye tracking?
NI think it’s going to depend a lot on your use case. If you dont play any games that support quad views , eye tracking doesn’t buy you anything.
NIf you take away eye tracking as a benefit of the aero, the OLED panels and sheer lightweight size of the BSB sound pretty attractive.

Nthe aero (and the crystal) are arguably the best headsets available for DCS as it supports quad views.. you can get better performance and better resolution than pure stereo mode.. but its literally the only title (other than pavlov) that supports quad-views (and even then, its only fully supported with the extensions written by the openxr toolkit author)... DCS's quad-view implementation is half-assed.. like most of DCS.
SFor DCS, yes, stick with the Aero. But for everything else. I would pick the BSB everytime.

D@theshazman I've been waiting for someone like you to finally own one! How bad is it with BSB for DCS ... If you downed the resolution a bit would it make a difference? Do you have a 4090? Do you think with a 3090ti i could just lower the resolution a bit? Im really excited about that headset. Much more over Varejo. Would a 13900k or high end amd processor help the cpu part of the load? What about fixed foveated rendering with openxr? Although i think I saw that not as an option yet for open xr.

WYou shouldn't worry about the temps, it's self-regulating.

Commonly with electrical motors max winding temp is about 125c.
For our use case that would take pulling max torque for a substantial amount of time, I'm guessing 3-5x the length of a normal dogfight without any pauses in between, if at all.
So I'm not really worried about the temps.

SI'll try to answer these to the best of my knowledge. Keep in mind that I am not a regular DCS player. For the longest time I used it to fly mock patterns in the Huey to practice for my actual civil private flying due to the flight model. Since then I've switched to XP12 which in my opinion offers an even better and more realistic rotary experience with the R22.
I have a 4090 but a 3090Ti should do just fine. In my experience the game remains CPU bound and I'm on a 7950x3D so I don't know if the GPU is going to make much of a difference between those two. As far as I know, there is no OXR layer with the BSB, everything runs natively through SteamVR runtime so I haven't made any attempts to mess with that. So that means no Foveated Rendering (fixed nor dynamic). But the picture to my eyeballs remains clearer on the BSB than the Aero due to the chromatic aberrations, color shift and mangled distortion profile that has plagued the Aero since VB 3.5. The picture on the BSB is just crystal clear without any messing about.
I haven't played with any custom resolution, the default has been perfectly clear. But the sweet spot on the Aero can arguably be wider however the stereo overlap is much greater with the BSB allowing for a much wider 'perceived' FOV even though it's a hair narrower horizontally. 75hz is what I play on and I haven't had the need to go 90hz yet.
As the work week slows down, I plan on dusting the puma and I will give DCS another run and see if I can add more color to that experience but let me know if there's anything else I can help answer. Cheers!
