Because of Epic Games and Valve, its actually pushing Microsoft to compete as well. They did not have to compete before because they had the walled garden of Windows OS that steam and epic games had to use to sell their products

They don't even have to do basically anything, it'd just work if they allowed the anti cheat to work on Linux, and it's possible for it to afaik. Even without native stuff valve has laid the groundwork for almost everything to just work

They do not trust it enough to work. They feel that hackers would be able to bypass it somehow on linux and therefore they are claiming it will take millions of dollars to pay for a solution

They could, as a workaround, give linux users their own fortnite server though with a warning about possible hacking. I have never played fortnite personally, it is not the original game it was supposed to be, but I'm glad it worked out for them because unreal engine benefitted a lot from it, and we are going to all benefit from epics court wins

So, I enabled "enable-virtualization" and rebooted, however, when I open virtual machine manager it says "unable to connect to libvirt qemu:/// system. Failed to connect socket to /var/run/libvirt/virtqemud-sock/var/run/libvirt/virtqemud-sock: no such file or directory"
