you cant have a cname on root cloudflare just supports cname flattening which just copies the record from the host

_acme-challenge.www is not put in correctly given I would assume its probably the same as the root and one of them starts with a

Ah if you want to send from Cloudflare would have to use functions and an email service that supports sending emails via a HTTP API.

That has a very big impact. The nameserver determines what dns values to use. If your nameserver isnt set to cloudflare it wont use what you put in cloudflare dns
