CAlright, that's veeeeeery interesting, the Ultra 5 only losses 2 performance cores but has the same GPU, might be a much better option than the normal Z1 ally, which is btw, atrocious

Jman dual booting linux was a great idea

MI was doing some serious distrohopping at the time and transferring like 1.5TB of data a lot. My SD card reader was cooked a month after release
CI guess that's the case with intel, my only other experience with ecores are the A17 Pro and the M1/2, most of my tasks only use the ecores in the mac, afaik

Mlike I said, the bios is meant to bump the temperature back down between 90-95 degrees. I’m not sure about the current state of setting TDP on Ally but it’s very possible the Decky plugin now overrules the bios limits with certain settings
CFunny enough, if you check the internals of the claw, the ally clone, the empty space where you can use a 2280 SSD, is filled by the battery
Mhence the reason I recommended leaving it alone for the most part
MThe hassle is not worth the extra 1fps

JI gained like 5FPS with 35w
COof, 10th and 11th gen were terrible, everything went uphill when 12th gen was launched
Aimo anything above 15w aint worth it, unless you are a heavy desktop user with your handheld
MI’m basing all this off my experience in like September/October. There have been many changes to the Ally on Linux since then so it could be different now.
