U@K.L.NAGARAJU In the picture, you shared it seems like the code has not yet been uploaded in your ESP8266. Because, in the other picture you shared it shows when you upload the code the COM7 not available (orange fonts in the output console of IDE). If the code upload succeeded then how come the serial monitor COM6 reading the serial terminal? So this means the code running on ESP8266 is older. I hope this may help you to debug the issue. Thanks!

KHey guys, any ideas on how to make proximity-activated locks except for ultrasonic sensors? We're trying to make a lock that is activated based on the signal distance of a receiver to the transmitter.
NLiDAR if you to have a longer range, or RFID if tap based are some things I can think of. Now that you've specified it to be based on Tx/Rx distance, check out BLE beacon based usage. You can use RSSI values t translate to distance in meters and set a threshold point for door lock/unlock.

NIt's okay to do things in bits and pieces as you encounter new things. Knowing the vastness is needed and so this one.
UHi, @K.L.NAGARAJU I'd suggest starting with a simple 8-bit MCU like Arduino Uno board. With it learn how to program MCU, memories, and peripherals (fundamentals like how all works). Then, try to interface various sensors using protocols like Serial UART, I2C, and SPI. Later, pick a 32-bit ARM MCU, and get comfortable with 32 bit registers and operations. And finally, start building projects around the area of your interest. I hope this may help. Best wishes!

KSo that only that person with the device is locked off ?
NOne way is to have a packet transfer between two nodes where you authenticate with keyword along with distance calculation.
NLet the transmitter be a beacon with the user sending unique bits. Receiver knowing the location of that bit in the datastream can authenticate from there.
NCrude solution - got to see what standars exist in place for this type of application.

NNah, the RF stuff. He's been working on this for a while now - packet transfer, protocol stack etc for automotive applications.
NYeah - got to interface wireless module on top of that though.
