But it’s been happening for a while now anyway. I was originally supposed to be Rhino #504, but I ended up with #334 2 weeks ago. I’m not complaining, though. I got mine 6 months sooner than expected!
Does this look like a viable space on the dofreality h3 for a ffb pedal setup? (perhaps if the motor was placed in front of the pedals instead of behind them)?
I can’t really tell how much room there is between the base and the floor. I think the issue you might have is that the front face of the motor needs to be more or less inline with the top arm of the pedals (for the main pulley to align with the output shaft). Certainly there isn’t room behind (towards the pilot). I think even the shorter 03 motor I used would be too tall.
keeping in mind that the only "accurate" part of my 3d model of the pedals is the mounting holes of the top arm.. It might fit behind (towards you) if you made the plate where the main pulley attaches a little thicker... but You'd definitely want to do some measuring.
Here's a side vew of my 3d design... with all the extrusion removed you can see the motor and the pedal base (minus leg arms)
the full step file of my design is published in the github repo.. you can grab that and play around with the placement of the motor (and verify the geometry of the rest of the pedal base model
Main problem is I don't have a 3d printer. Probably shops out there that would print it for me though. More future-planning right now with the assumption that one day in the not-too-distant future there will be pre-built vpforce kits for this. Or maybe because of my specific needs that wouldn't be viable and would need some creativity to get built for this.
