Like, how compatible are the 2? If I have some 40 Series, can I just add onto it with 15 series, or will that cause issues?
Looks like the 2 slots on the 3.0 side are 1.9 mm closer on center than in 40 series. I don’t know if that’s enough difference to cause problems, or within normal tolerances
Hmm, the extrusion and machining is definitely less than 8020.net... but shipping is more. And some of hardware is more expensive, some less... so on balance it's about a wash.
I made the mistake of ordering a bunch of 15 series instead of 40 series but I will say that a lot of the MT mounting plates will work if you downsize the screws. Still better to just pick the correct extrusion though, lol
Yeah it’s about $200 shipped to build this (with clamp and top from an existing MT mount) using 8020.net. But I think it’s rock solid, so don’t regret the purchase.
Hey @papiplanes, So the last Shipped RHINO is #0385 on 2024-02-06 Average waiting time from preorder to shipped is 215 days, median is 225 days, max is 414 days 379 Rhinos are shipped in total
Hey guys, I'm putting a thrustmaster grip on for the first time (Hornet Grip). Doing a search here and elsewhere all I find is that TM is "default"... does that mean the "generic" setting in the dropdown for grips? If yes and I'm[ not missing something, then something isn't right. I'll have to check that no pins are bent as I've seen that before.
Hey @SimonSays, So the last Shipped RHINO is #0387 on 2024-02-07 Average waiting time from preorder to shipped is 214 days, median is 224 days, max is 415 days 382 Rhinos are shipped in total
New here, so I apologize in advance if I’m missing something obvious. Anyone know if the average total cost for the diy build is cheaper than the built base (I do not have a 3D printer so would outsource all of that)? And what’s the average wait time for a diy kit? TIA
The cost difference should be minimal specially you need to outsource your 3d printing. You'd still need to buy Walmis' motors and that is the main bulk of the cost. Still, if you really pinch it, should be cheaper. Kit ships way faster tho, a few days at best, 2 weeks at worst I reckon.
Thank you! If I have no engineering/CAD background, but a little coding experience, is it even a feasible option? Or a lot of research and self-education required to make such a kit?
