Tupdates happen daily so maybe? but typically i dont notice it. if it gets better after a while then i guess it is the updates

Tyeah this makes sense then actually. bazzite is installed on my SSD, but i have a 7200RPM drive for my games and that poor drive already struggling to run games 
KThere's also no fetch or precache on modern Linux desktops

Teventually updates won't take as long, but it wont be for a while that this change happens and it requires upstream
Tas the update will only update the "diffs" and not redownloading the bazzite image

Tthose builds include:
- changes to bazzite
- changes from fedora
- applications installed (flatpak, containers, etc.)
Teven though this isn't recommended, you can disable automatic updates if you want
