I've just talked to the Pages team, and yes, this is something that we plan to maintain but it will probably have to be converged with the workers-action
@Vero 🐙, is this task on your "not too far into the future" roadmap? And if not, can I help in any way?
It seems like it's not in the near future, but can't say how far. Since it's part of the Workers and Pages convergence, it could take a year

It was already briefly mentioned here but as someone who uses wrangler-action for my workers and pages deployments I can say it's a pretty great replacement. You shouldn't need to use pages-action at all
