Homeworld remastered collection 2024

So I was typing in a very old thread but the issues I come across with homeworld remastered is the game audio skipping in the remastered 1&2 and then blacking out. Some versions of proton will not even launch the game at all. The original second game audio is fine but the game is also blacked out. I have tried newest versions of proton ge along with winege and older proton versions. I am running linux mint 21.3. I thought maybe using winetricks to install ms vs code c++ 2012-215 might fix some things but it did not. I have tried reinstalling the game with the offline files along with wiping the game and then fresh download from the launcher. My gpu is a 5700xt along with a ryzen 7 5800x and 32gb ram if that helps. I also wiped all the prefixes and any trace of the game to make sure files were not conflicting.

the way I got these games to work was by setting alternate exe files (the launcher seems to fail to start, but skipping the launcher seems to work) use the option in the game's settings in heroic and look for the executable of the version you want to run (they are in something like HWClassic1/bin or something like that, I don't remember exactly)

So the original homeworld works. HW2 will get past the gear box logo and then black screen. The others will just skip audio like a record label, black screen and then crash. I tried the separate exe launchers and got the same results. Here are all the logs. The one that keeps popping up is the ERROR: Could not inspect tasks for client [4555]! Skipping ioprio optimisation. Update, I disabled gamemode and the 2 classic games work. But the remasters are the issue still.

Ok after messing aroung for a solid while, the esync option was causing all the problems. I think it should be working now, I was able to get to the tutorial just fine for both remasters. Sorry for the headache.
