VDistrobox can't do everything (VMs aren't too possible/easy) but it can do a lot

Toh maybe. i get vmware and virtualbox mixed up. i prefer something like qemu+virt-manager or use gnome boxes for a quick and easy vm setup, but that wouldn't fit the needs of others im sure lol

KI have no idea what boxes uses, but it's so limited that it's not worth considering if your use case isn't just testing something

Hqemu/virt-manager is what we support, virtualbox and anything that needs a custom kernel driver/module for virtualization is not supported
bazzite has a command to set it up and even a vfio command that configures the host for vfio (minus binding the card and doing the passthrough and prepping the card as that is your job and not something we can support, but we can at least do the system prep for you so you can just config it from there)

Hidk if vmware needs any kernel modules for virtualization to work
DI really like GNOME Boxes and it seems to work well FWIW
KI use it too, it's just limited in certain ways that make it unusable for someone who wants a VM workflow
KOne such case is giving it exclusive access to a USB device
KVery handy having a ready to go VM in flatpak though
Hboxes would be useless for me

Tit can have access to a USB flash drive device if you layer it, but at that point...
