This will already help me for 90% of the cases I struggle with. In my next design, I will for sure use this wildcard to avoid non-matching designator numbers.
However, the other 10% of cases is when a design is "ready" but I forgot to add a component here or there. Last minute changes - you know... I think I can still use my script in those particular circumstances. So the effort is not in vain
