EI installed Bazzite on my HTPC within the very first week it released 1.0 I have no idea
EIt’s been half a year since I touched any installer for Bazzite

Hdepends on your machine, its a lengthy process since it has to rebuild stuff but it should rarely happen after the first time it is done

Hessentially it is reconfiguring a lot of things to fit your hardware and rebuilding a few system things in layman speak
DI've only used mutable distros prior to this
Hless than 1 hour, most systems maybe 10-15 mins
Hbut it all depends on a bunch of factors
Hmy 10 year old laptop uses up to 30 mins on it maybe a bit more, never really timed it
my threadripper system uses maybe 1-2 minutes
my htpc uses maybe 4-5

Halso depends if initramfs has to be rebuilt along with the kargs

DMine came out in the last couple years
Hfirst boot will always be the longest since it has to rebuild initramfs and set the kargs for your system
Hin the future if a change has to happen with 1 of the 2, it will have to rebuild those but only 1 of them (unless there happens to be an update for both which is very rare)

VIt's theoretically better and I do think it wins in some scenarios. Bazzite's focus isn't totally on performance as much as something like nobara but there are some (small) gains.

KSteam is already included in Bazzite as a layered package iirc
GNo reason to use the Steam flatpak since it's already layered, yeah
GThe flatpak has issues with the gamescope session
KThanks. Yes I know, but I like to use Flatpaks for proprietary software and I like Flatpaks in general. I also noticed the Steam Flatpak has the latest mesa driver.
