ZAlright, I did that using the terminal, amazingly everything suddenly scaled properly in desktop mode now, and the OS feels amazingly much more responsive but I have a microscopic taskbar which is unaffected by my scaling options and steam link now gives me a black screen on the tv and is essentially only streaming the sound, it is a step forward though since it was earlier just rebooting my whole device
ZI am not sure if I wrote my Sudo password correctly but I believe that I did since Bazzite has switched to X11
Ax11 on desktop mode can't be scaled via display settings
Awhich is why i stuck to wayland on desktop
Adesktop mode wayland has the autorotate screen issue though

ZThe only thing that doesn't scale as long as you do the 6,25% upwards is the taskbar but as soon as you restart desktop mode then you'll see your scaling has taken affevt

ZLooks a bit corny but now applications like steam is actually properly scaling in desktop mode without the weird tiny UI

KI'm not sure what's up in your case, it should just work on X11
KI suppose Sunshine is always a better option for you if you can't get it working
KSteam link can be buggy even in the best circumstances
KNote that running that same toggle command will get you back on Wayland for scaling

ZI can try the inbuilt android tv instead of Nvidia shieldTV pro, if it doesn't work either then I will try this sunshine thing.
When using Wayland I had these strange scaling glitches in desktop mode, most stuff was properly scaled, but every now and then there was some things that remained with tiny UI.
After trying X11, everything scales properly, even applications as long as you scale by multiplying 6,25% or just spam the upwards arrow then restart desktop mode.
The only thing that didn't scale was my taskbar for some strange reason.

Twe have an "installing & managing applications" guide that goes over containers. it still might need some work. Would def try to make a container and play around with it though. BoxBuddy is pre-installed for a GUI

ZSooo first thing I did was play with scaling, didn't think it work until I saw a microscopic message that said it will only work every 6,25% and will only take affect after a restart.
So I got scaling working and it is flawless other than a tiny taskbar.
Then I learned that suspend-resume is a bit more unstable on X11 than on Wayland but it does work about 70% of the time compared to Wayland's 80% of the time.
Will report any more bugs I encounter, steam link worked after I changed video codec.
