I am newbie in firmware development, I am working on full fledged project of making Digital Vending Machine consists of UPI payment gateway with ecommerce webserver with ESP32.
I want to learn some hardware aspects of firmware development like hardware design, PCB design and fabrication and many more.

Great. You can. For display you can just you print statements. And work on webscokets. Later you can add all the displays

Good day, who knows any LCD display vendor, that has small LCD around 20mm*20mm rounded shape. Or a rectangular shape around that size that uses I2C or SPI protocol. Need it in a design. @PCB & Analog @MCU, MPU & Firmware

I use AVR ISP MKII Programmer but if you want to save a few $ then the AVR ISP Programmer with USBasp firmware would also do the job.

I used VHDL, before doing anything further down the pipeline, I'd make it first work in ModelSim

if you want to e.g. learn VHDL, I extremely recommend using that, you can learn VHDL on that level much like you learn a software language

try out implementing basic digital circuits, simulate them, validate them..

you can also feed in data from files, and save output to files, so can already simulate signal processing stuff there

this is not going to get you all the way to making (functional/good) FPGA designs, but if you come from zero and have nobody else to guide you, then having all steps at once is a bit much, maybe do this, afaik ModelSim is free (at least it was some years ago)
