Hyou can symlink the compatdata and shadercache to different disks, but keep in mind that if you disconnect your disk then, all games symlinked to that disk will fail to start with no error
Hthey will just silently fail and the steam log will not tell you why

Hthose are on the disk you installed the game to, just make a new steamlibrary on said disk and move the game to it...

Hbut that is how you do it, splitting the game files and "assets" will still do the same thing since 90-95% of most games are assets
Asure, explain how to do it the symlinks to the game files mostly they are assets of cutscene and textures and models and environment??
Hyou dont symlink them, you connect the disk you want, format it the way you want then go to that page in steam settings and add the disk as a steam library
