is it possible to take game files like a assets to another drive and symlink it to original location of game installed folder located?
just asking cuz main purpose to make game load faster and safe storage space while at it!

you can symlink the compatdata and shadercache to different disks, but keep in mind that if you disconnect your disk then, all games symlinked to that disk will fail to start with no error

you dont symlink them, you connect the disk you want, format it the way you want then go to that page in steam settings and add the disk as a steam library

symlinking the game assets to other disks causes more issues than what you think they solve.
you will end up slowing down loading in the games to whatever the slowest disk is, it can even crash some games
