i can help you recreate the return to game mode shortcut if it actually disappeared after rebasing back to the stable channel

GNOME has an anti-feature where it turns off extensions if it didn't exit or start properly

in my experience of dont try this at home rebasing between DEs:
GNOME --> KDE: doesn't break too much
KDE --> GNOME: oh what have i done
