RThanks. I'll probably avoid layering because I know that's supposed to be used sparingly and could cause issues if overdone. A login theme, while nice, isn't worth the trouble it theoretically might cause.
KLayering an SDDM theme shouldn't cause issues, main thing is layering exposes you to dependency issues like DNF might
Kbut a package that just adds some files that otherwise don't exist will never blow up like that

Moh wow, apparently I really did find a proton 9 regression. was my first time submitting a proton issue, I was expecting my report to just sit in the tracker untouched but someone at codeweavers confirmed it within 5 hours.
PI always assume someone smarter than me has already looked at something
MI spent way too much time going back and forth on whether it was a proton-ge issue or a valve proton issue and it appears I chose correctly
Mespecially confusing because it involves media foundation shenanigans, which doesn’t work on valve’s proton anyway

BYou can alternatively create a SDDM conf file and point the themes to a directory in your home folder
BIt's a bit of tinkering, but it also works, and you can download the themes as regular zips from pling.com or something
BDid you have to do anything to get coolercontrol to actually control your fans, Kyle, or are you using a fan controller in your fractal?
BI've been able to get coolercontrol to layer at build time, but it never detects any fans
KI am using a Corsair Commander pro
Kjust installing cooler control was enough, no setup
Kalso detects my AMD GPU, my corsair AIO, and my corsair PSU
Kit's down to what liquidctl supports, that's the backend for cooler control

BI may give this another shot. When I was using it, almost all the main hw got detected, but my fans (connected to mobo headers) weren't showing up
Kcontrolling mobo fans may require you to manually load some kernel modules
BBeen debating if I should pick up a decent fan controller that'll fit in my case, and maybe that will work with liquidctl

HDoes anyone know where I could look for a “walkthrough” of different plugins and different things baiter can do? Not sure how to word that fully lol. I’m not new to Linux or anything, but I am new to SteamOS and how the different plugins for bazzite (such as simpledeckytpd) affect the device, but I can’t seem to find any videos or wikis on anything like that. Thank you in advance!

Kjust don't layer unnecessarily. If it works in distrobox or has a functioning flatpak and you layer it you'll make me cry
VThe distrobox for bazzite-arch seems to have had some of major issue for me. Pacman was permanently locked even after a restart, and even after deleting the lock file manually, any interaction with pacman or paru ends with this
