Part 3 - Now I have a range of extensions and limiters this video focuses on the final stage of mounting the Rhino FFB joystick
SInteresting video, I have similar equipment and now wondering if I need a variety of different limiters depending on use case. I tend to fly a bit of everything - will mostly be using the rhino centre mounted below chair but may also explore its use as a side stick- at least until I get my hands on a FSSB base. Anyone have suggestions on which limiters to get?
Fyou can also just use the software to limit the throw. that is what I do. Don't know if there are any downsides to that though.
SI did hear that can put possibly put strain the motors. My invoice just came through and I had already added the 11 degree limiter but wonder if I should add a couple more with different ranges?

ICould someone do me a HUGE favor? If you have a Rhino with a Winwing 16EX on it, can you measure the overall height of the whole shabang?
II'm trying to judge how much of an extension I want so I'd really love to know how tall the Rhino + Winwing adapter + 16EX is without an extension
Oanyway of copying my thrustmaster warthog stick profile and pasting to the VP Rhino profile in msfs , there is an option to duplicate but only for the same controller, weird?
CI don't have the 16ex, but I have their f-18 grip and I'm pretty sure overall height is the same / very similar. I have the winwing adjustable extension on and I have it adjusted as short as it will go at the moment. Overall height from the floor is almost exactly 26 inches / 66 centimeters. Winwing adaptor plus the extension is 6 inches / 15 centimeters.

MHoping this helps a bit. My DIY Rhino setup on on a SimFab rig, with the base about as low as possible on their metal mount plate. I can use the 16EX with no extension, but it is a bit too low. After some experimenting, I printed a 60mm extension, and that's about perfect with the height of the WW adapter as well. Happy to provide more details of measurements if you want.

OI had to turn the rhino in opposite to get the thrustmaster stick closer Now it doesn't recognise button press, anything I may have missed? Cheers

Oin vp configurator which grip type is recommended for a thrustmaster ? currently using generic.
ODo you have to use both the configurator and TelemFFB together or 1 or the other?
AYup, thrustmasters use the generic grip profile.
ATelemffb is optional if you want extra effects such as engine vibrations, deceleration forces pulling the stick forward, gun vibrations etc. Configurator is for configuring the "global" settings for the Rhino base and, should one need it, creating per-aircraft profiles (different stick movement ranges, Rhino-based force trim etc.)
Aare there any sticks that are typically recommended to go with the rhino base?
FVirpil is inherently compatible so if you're fine with their offerings id go for that (or any other virpil compatible stick)
FWinwing is another easy option, only requiring the adapter, while vkb needs both adapter and one of their black boxes. Benefit for vkb is that you retain their software to program the stick rather than utilizing walmis' application

FI have the TM F-16 add-on grip and the Virpil Constellation Alpha. Using the 200mm extension by Virpil. I prefer the Virpil.
SThe WinWing grips, do they interface well?
MThey need an adapter that adds like 50mm? To the height of the stem but work just fine

WQuick question about the Rhino - has Walmis suggested he’d build a version with higher peak force? Some competitors are getting up to 35 Nm of peak force which seems a fair bit higher than what’s on offer with Rhino.
Fmine already wants to rip itself out of my hand in certain situations lol
