I don't have the 16ex, but I have their f-18 grip and I'm pretty sure overall height is the same / very similar. I have the winwing adjustable extension on and I have it adjusted as short as it will go at the moment. Overall height from the floor is almost exactly 26 inches / 66 centimeters. Winwing adaptor plus the extension is 6 inches / 15 centimeters.

Hoping this helps a bit. My DIY Rhino setup on on a SimFab rig, with the base about as low as possible on their metal mount plate. I can use the 16EX with no extension, but it is a bit too low. After some experimenting, I printed a 60mm extension, and that's about perfect with the height of the WW adapter as well. Happy to provide more details of measurements if you want.

Telemffb is optional if you want extra effects such as engine vibrations, deceleration forces pulling the stick forward, gun vibrations etc. Configurator is for configuring the "global" settings for the Rhino base and, should one need it, creating per-aircraft profiles (different stick movement ranges, Rhino-based force trim etc.)

Virpil is inherently compatible so if you're fine with their offerings id go for that (or any other virpil compatible stick)

Winwing is another easy option, only requiring the adapter, while vkb needs both adapter and one of their black boxes. Benefit for vkb is that you retain their software to program the stick rather than utilizing walmis' application

The TM grips are my favorites. I've had Virpil ones; the TM's buttons/hats feel a lot more "positive" -- more like what's on a real grip (I have one).

I have the TM F-16 add-on grip and the Virpil Constellation Alpha. Using the 200mm extension by Virpil. I prefer the Virpil.

Quick question about the Rhino - has Walmis suggested he’d build a version with higher peak force? Some competitors are getting up to 35 Nm of peak force which seems a fair bit higher than what’s on offer with Rhino.

Man, I wish I could test it all out. Rhino seems like it’s quite polished for such a small operation. I’m worried about the motors getting too hot under decent load. If there are other motors that produce 5x peak torque I’d think that’d make them run cooler and provide more longevity.

The Rhino has fans which kicks in when it starts getting hot. For me they rarely turn on for normal use, only when pushing hard for long time do the fans enable at all. So I think temperature is well under control with the Rhino

To solve the geometry, you need to know what the length is from the gimbal pivot to the extension. I don’t have a Rhino, so I don’t know what that number is. If you measure from the center of the pivot to the top of the stub or to the top of a known extension length, I can figure it out pretty quickly with a CAD sketch.

Dynamic SimConnect Subscriptions

  - Some 3rd party aircraft use alternate "L:Vars" for certain pieces of data that various effects use. This renders the applicable effects either inoperable or inaccurate.
  - This new functionality allows us to dynamically replace a given piece of telemetry with the L:var that is needed to retrieve the applicable data from a given aircraft.
  - The only known aircraft today are the A2A Comanche (autopilot and prop thrust) and the B206/B47 from FlyInside (engine and rotor RPMs). The simconnect re-subscriptions for these aircraft are baked into this release, however this new feature will allow us to accommodate more aircraft in the future without the need to modify the underlying effects code.
[HPG Helicopters] - Trim Release Damper for the Collective Axis
- Similar to the Cyclic trim release damper setting that was in the previous release, this adds the same concept for the HPG collective axis when the TR button is depressed.

New, more accurate Airspeed Telemetry

  - It was recently discovered that both the 'TAS' and 'IAS' data that comes directly from the sim is inaccurate in several ways. The 'TAS' data seems to be more in line with ground speed. Th "IAS" data, while more accurate, seems to include a fixed value, regardless of heading, that is somewhere around 2x the current wind speed.
- Given the above inaccuracies, with most effects leveraging the 'TAS' data, you may have noticed odd behavior of effects like ETL.
- In this version, we are calculating the "true" TAS by using the aircraft velocity vectors and the wind vectors to determine the aircraft's actual speed through the air mass. This has given us a much more accurate data set than was previously available from the sim.
Helicopter Trim Release Damper

  - This is not a replacement of the in-game trim release functionality. It is a simple spring based dampening effect, identical to the one for MSFS.
  - To configure, simply enable the effect and bind the same button that you have configured for TR in the sim.
- While the button is depressed, TelemFFB will add the dampening effect and will remove it when the button is released. The actual trimming and centering offset is still completely handled by DCS.
  IL-2:
Improved effects handling when game window loses focus

  - IL-2 does some strange things, including a "kill all" when the window loses focus. This update improves on the TelemFFB handling of this scenario
