WQuick question about the Rhino - has Walmis suggested he’d build a version with higher peak force? Some competitors are getting up to 35 Nm of peak force which seems a fair bit higher than what’s on offer with Rhino.

WMan, I wish I could test it all out. Rhino seems like it’s quite polished for such a small operation. I’m worried about the motors getting too hot under decent load. If there are other motors that produce 5x peak torque I’d think that’d make them run cooler and provide more longevity.
AThe Rhino has fans which kicks in when it starts getting hot. For me they rarely turn on for normal use, only when pushing hard for long time do the fans enable at all. So I think temperature is well under control with the Rhino
BI'm too dumb/lazy to figure this out but if I limit the throw of the Rhino to 70% in each axis with a 15 cm extension. What % would that equate to if you changed it to a 10 cm extension?

TTo solve the geometry, you need to know what the length is from the gimbal pivot to the extension. I don’t have a Rhino, so I don’t know what that number is. If you measure from the center of the pivot to the top of the stub or to the top of a known extension length, I can figure it out pretty quickly with a CAD sketch.
RYeah that's why I'm surprised the other guy got his to work (and doesn't have heat issues) while having a much higher torque
BIf you're usually not running anywhere near full force, then I would expect the heat build up to be lower.

FI dont have much electrical knowhow so take this with a grain of salt, but I don't think the temps are the motors limiting factor

- Some 3rd party aircraft use alternate "L:Vars" for certain pieces of data that various effects use. This renders the applicable effects either inoperable or inaccurate.
- This new functionality allows us to dynamically replace a given piece of telemetry with the L:var that is needed to retrieve the applicable data from a given aircraft.
- The only known aircraft today are the A2A Comanche (autopilot and prop thrust) and the B206/B47 from FlyInside (engine and rotor RPMs). The simconnect re-subscriptions for these aircraft are baked into this release, however this new feature will allow us to accommodate more aircraft in the future without the need to modify the underlying effects code.

- It was recently discovered that both the 'TAS' and 'IAS' data that comes directly from the sim is inaccurate in several ways. The 'TAS' data seems to be more in line with ground speed. Th "IAS" data, while more accurate, seems to include a fixed value, regardless of heading, that is somewhere around 2x the current wind speed.
- Given the above inaccuracies, with most effects leveraging the 'TAS' data, you may have noticed odd behavior of effects like ETL.
- In this version, we are calculating the "true" TAS by using the aircraft velocity vectors and the wind vectors to determine the aircraft's actual speed through the air mass. This has given us a much more accurate data set than was previously available from the sim.

- This is not a replacement of the in-game trim release functionality. It is a simple spring based dampening effect, identical to the one for MSFS.
- To configure, simply enable the effect and bind the same button that you have configured for TR in the sim.
- While the button is depressed, TelemFFB will add the dampening effect and will remove it when the button is released. The actual trimming and centering offset is still completely handled by DCS.

BIs anyone aware of a comparison between the VPForce and the BRunner? It’s difficult to decide which one to get.

JI don't have direct link to one but from what I've heard Rhino is better in every way except the long wait time.
Basically - if you don't want to wait and have the money, go with Brunner. If you don't mind waiting and want a superior product, go with Rhino

GIn DCS do you fly heli's on the stick, then press the trim button once stable, or do you hold the trim button then release once stable?

Ado I need to connect the Rhino base into an outlet using the power box if I'm using a desktop? Or does that apply only to laptop computers?

PDon't get Brunner, it will cut out after 30 seconds of FFB effects from what I have heard talking to ppl that have owned them due to overheat protection where as the Rhino has fans to help mittigate heat & I have never had my Rhino cut FFB effects due to heat or any other reason. The Rhino's ~9Nm may not sound as cool as 35Nm for the FFbeast or something like 80Nm I think I saw someone do with laserwing, but the Rhino's 9Nm is plenty strong enough 80Nm is stupid crazy no one needs that lol 35Nm is crazy too you could legit hurt yourself in a crash. I've had the Rhino snatch the grip out of my hand in a crash landing in IL2. 9Nm is a little more than the 8Nm of a Fanatec DD CLS Wheel with the boost kit. The Rhino's software is far further along than anything I know of for laserwing tbh I don't know if it even has anything like the Rhino does, FFBeast & the GVL FFBest are the same thing just GVL offers one prebuilt, the FFBeast has software that is coming along but not as far as the VPforce/Rhino software the config software is pretty much the same but I don't know how far along or if it has a TelemFFB style software. If I had to choose again now between the Rhino & any other FFB base I would still choose the VPforce Rhino, it is strong & solid, the software behind it is solid & constantly being worked on & also Walmis is very active & extremely helpful to anyone that needs help I have seen him push out software fixes for individual ppl in a matter of hours from time of reporting the issue
IWith my Rhino purchase coming up very soon, the software alone between the "competitors" is what makes me think I am making by far the right choice.
Acould someone with rhino enlighten me please, I thought I could set cyclic trim options in the software regardless of the game, does the helicopter trim require game to have this functionality, or is it just for extra feedback during the flight?

Nyou can emulate force trim with just the rhino configuration software without any games or any other software running

Pnot really, to get the effects of ffb you don't even need 9nm as long as the base is powerful enough to keep the stick upright that's all the power you need or have to have, after that it is personal preference.

CI would not want to see what an 80nm would do to itself in a crash in Il2 . It would tear itself apart. I would guess most people would tone down the ffb if it was over 20nm.
