CIs it possible for other distros to have left "traces" of itself on my drive after I wipe it? Within the steam folder itself, there are the ubuntu12_16 and ubuntu12_32 files. Wasn't sure if those were normal.
Pvalve's official linux steam version is for ubuntu

A@Kyle Gospo I have a question for you, it's been a while but I still have some issues with Totk on Bazzite on my deck, it gets ram bottlenecked, although on SteamOs isn't like that, could it be zram? Do you think increasing swap could help?
KWe don't use a swap file at all, ZRAM maxes at 4GB

CI think I'm closer to a solution. If i fully close steam, unmount the drive, then remount it and open steam, games will work. However, if I restart my PC, the issue persists.

AYup, fps and ram usage are totally different
KDo you have an existing steam library on that drive?
AWhile on Bazzite ram is maxed out and the fps can't get past 22 fps, on SteamOs the ram usage is around 12/13 gb and at 30 fps

VI can concur that performance usage is definitely higher on the Steam Deck
VI get stutter sometimes just existing in the menus, or even in GBA games
CYes. Though in the past I've wiped the drive and installed from scratch, and that still didn't work. Now that I know it's fixed with a remount, I might be able to create a startup script that does it for me on boot. It doesn't fix the problem, but it will at least alleviate it.
AThe new SteamOs update does/will use zram, so it's not that either
Dfido2 yubikey has been working out great on my steam deck, but cant help but wonder, how can i be even lazier about it without compromising security. Anybody try out tpm2 with pcr measurements? am wondering how these would work out on bazzite
Dsomeone was asking earlier what the point of secure boot was, i guess using tpm2 with pcr 7 is a another good example of what it might be useful for if anything. Set secure boot to on, set luks encryption to decrypt with tpm, include pcr7 so it will prompt for a passphrase instead on unlock if secure boot is ever disabled
Dim just not sure if combining pcr 7 with 8 or 11 would work out due to the way how rpm-ostree works
