IBut will double the resistance along the full range? from slow to high speed? to me slow speeds resistance is spot on, dont want that to get stiffer
WThat's the only workaround currently, to get more dynamic range we'll need to add spring stiffening to telemFFB

MHello everyone. My number is close and I'm trying to decide whether to purchase or not. I've decided that I'd like to continue to use my Puma X controls. Has anyone been able to figure out a way to mount the Rhino on the Puna frame and use the Puma electronics for cyclic, collective and pedals?
WDo you feel like the Rhino needs more power? It’s the only thing I’m worried about currently.
WOther options are coming that offer higher powered motors.
IIs not that I feel it does not have enough power, if you increase spring gain it gets stiff, but across the whole range, even at slow speeds, seems to be the next version of Telem will take care of it.
MThe Rhino has a ton of power as it is, as the other dude said, it just needs a better force curve with warbirds. But Walmis and Number481 are working on that now.
The amount of force that the "other options" are advertising seems downright dangerous, compared to sim racing peripherals. Like wrist breaking if the aircraft does something unexpected or you forget to let go in a crash, or there's a loss of telemetry levels of dangerous.

AI think the issue with warbirds is that the curve saturates at fairly low speeds so you don't get a lot of dynamic range
BI had a similar experience when i did a discovery flight in an R22,
I had lots of RC helicopter experience at the time, no real stick time tho. Second time in a heli. First was a Tour over the grand canyon.
The instructor took us up, showed me the coastal sites, then asked if i wanted to take the stick. Absolutely!
I did some figure 8s, orbited the airport while maintaining airspeed and alt. All of that was easy.
Then lets try some hovering.
We parked about 3-5ft over the landing pad, and she started handing me controls one by one.
Collective, then cyclic. There was a small miscommunication on the anti-torque however, as I never "took control" but my feet rested on them to try to feel what she was doing.
Turns out she wasn't doing anything, so we were doing pirouettes over the landing pad and i was maintaining the hover within the 10 foot 'H' circle, while spinning around. Not super fast out of control, but fast enough to do a 360 in 6-10 seconds.
She kept telling me I'm doing great and how impressed she was, I'm wondering why we are starting on hardmode, fighting for my life to keep the helicopter over this little circle as we are spinning around and around.
I know she was blowing smoke up my ass, but felt really good to hear that I did better than all of her students with 30+ hours of experience. And she couldn't believe this was my first flight.

WGood deal, I'm about 80 to go in the queue - wondering if this is going to be overpriced and obsolete in a year. If you fly warbirds and it gets your stamp of approval, then that's something.
WYeah that's a big point in the favor of the Rhino is the software seems like it's quite good. With the growing number of owners it also seems like there's going to be a lot of profiles for different aircraft, let alone the updates that are coming from Walmis and company.
II think the Rhino is great, that was my only complaint and is going to addressed , I really enjoy it, the stall buffeting is just like a real plane, also the flaps, and gear movement, machine guns and cannons I suppose so, never fired those IRL

CWhat type(s) of warbird do you fly? Cool to hear from someone who has hands on experience. I don't think my Cessna flying qualifies me to know if it feels real

IIn DCS, if myself and a buddy are in a multicrew helicopter together and he has control and is flying, will my Rhino follow his stick movements?
II believe in DCS it replicates the stick movements on your end if you watch the stick or the RCTRL + Enter controls window

SI have the Brunner stick base, I was CP/G, my friend was the pilot, my stick was not following him, except when he did the force trim, my stick jumped to his new position in the Apache.

POh I was referring to the mfg list to order, or does that command display the information for the FFB MFG kit?
Phey m8, won't be able to give you a full answer but, I know the Rhino will work with Thustmaster & Virpil out the box, it will also work with grips that use a shiftregister (though it may need to be a certain type) If you are getting really close you miht consider pinging Walmis for an answer directly? Good luck my, all I can say is no matter what get the Rhino, obviously after the wait time & also the fact I'd rather have the Rhino & figure a way to make it work in my set up rather than not have it, especially if you fly helos, it is a total game changer
BIs there a way to set a dead zone for the Rhino in the software vs. the game. For example if I'm using force trim there is ever so slightly a bit of play that is detected center of where ever the stick rests (left, right or anywhere) off center. If you set a deadzone in game it only seems to detect that deadzone when the stick is centered.

CI have a real simulator mkII ultra that I use for the f16. Far and away the best option for that plane.
AI've got mine on the side, along with a TM F-16 grip. It's fine for me, though I've been thinking of center mounting the Rhino and buying a realsim base for F-16 stuff.
